Court Closures
Court Clerk's office will be closed the following dates: October 18, 2012 & November 9, 2012.
Also, in observance of the holidays the following Court Sessions have been cancelled:
November 21, 2012, December 26, 2012 & January 2, 2013.
During inclement weather people are encouraged to call the Court at the above number to make sure that Court will be in session.
The Elmsford Village Court is a local Justice Court located in Westchester County, New York with jurisdiction over the following Penal Law, Vehicle and Traffic, Parking and Village Ordinances and both Small Claims and Civil Court (up to $3,000.00). The Clerk's window is open for payments and questions to 4:30 PM Monday thru Friday. The regular Court sessions are helf on a Wednesday at 9:30 AM (you are expected to be prompt).
Payment for fines at this time are in the form of certified checks, cash, or money orders. The user of credit cards will be available in the future.
Payments can be left in the Elmsford PD lobby and if left with a self addressed stamped envelope a receipt can be sent back, their current address should appear somewhere on the payment or the fine notice in case we need to get in touch with them.
If you received a notice of drivers suspension from the DMV it is recommend to answer it immediately or at least a day before the date of suspension is to take effect, once it has we cannot and will not waive the suspension lift imposed by the DMV.
The Courts do not impose the points on moving violations, you should go to the NY State DMV website where a current listing of all point able violations are listed.
