Take a look at 2007 Several adjectives used to describe the community
atmosphere in the Village of Elmsford include friendly,
relaxed, family oriented, caring, and close-knit just to
name a few. In 2007 it became apparent that the best way
to describe Elmsford is simply as My Hometown. This
became even more evident this past September, thanks to
the generosity of Elmsford residents and businesses, as our
friend Major Robert McWilliams and his family were
flown in from the State of Washington to rejoin Elmsford
families and friends for Elmsford Day 2007.

Starting February 1st, 2008 Westchester County will step up enforcement of its mandatory recycling law requiring all municipalities to separate the waste generated within their communities. Starting Feb. 1, 2008, recyclables that are not properly separated will not get picked up.

businesses, institutions and schools will
not be accepted.
Westchester County Executive Andy Spano is urging parents not to throw any lead-contaminated toys found in their homes into the trash where they can pose environmental risks. Instead, they should store them away from children and bring them to Household Chemical Clean-Up Days scheduled around the county.
