EUFSD Update - March 19, 2020

A Special Message From The Elmsford Union Free School District

Greetings Elmsford family,

I hope my email finds you well, staying active, and safe!

I write to you to let you know that Day One of our distance learning went well by all accounts. While this process is new for everyone, I applaud you, our staff, teachers, and of course, our students for working together to make this new learning experience as valuable as possible. I also included our Continuity of Learning plan on our website: eufsd.org, which is a resource for parents for information and contacts.

In all of my prior emails, I reported that we had no confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in our school community. However, I am sure that it comes as no surprise that this is no longer the case, we now know of at least one positive case. Although school districts are no longer being asked by the Department of Health to report cases due to the widespread growth of the virus, I remind our school community to take the proper health precautions as advised by the CDC, which may be found by visiting the following link: How to Protect Yourself. Please remember that social distancing is very important. Our playgrounds have been closed and we are under emergency orders prohibiting large gatherings.

Remember, together we will get through this challenging time. We look forward to the day that we welcome your children back into the schools and see their smiling faces.

Yours truly,

Dr, Marc P. Baiocco

Superintendent of Schools
