EUFSD Superintendent Update-May 1, 2020

Greetings EUFSD family,

I hope my email finds you well on this rainy first day of May!

During Governor Cuomo’s press conference earlier today, we learned that schools will be closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. While this news does not come as a surprise, it is sad that we will not have the opportunity to welcome our students back this year.

We know that our students are missing their principal, teachers, staff and friends. For many of our students, there was much excitement for the end of year activities. Please know that over the next few weeks, we will be working to make these end of year events special, even though we will not be able to celebrate together.

We will also continue to improve our distance learning program over the next few weeks. We value your feedback and are here to support you through the next phase of our plan. Again, I thank you for your patience, understanding, and partnership as we work through this experience together.

Once more information is available, I will provide you with the necessary updates through email and another Coffee and Conversation to address any questions. Additionally, we created a new section on our website at eufsd.org under our “Resources” tab where you may access more information.

I wish you a wonderful weekend!

Yours truly,

Dr. Marc Baiocco, Superintendent of Schools
